The Psychological Services Unit at King Saud University was established in 1406 AH to provide qualification and training programs for psychology students and practicing psychologists. These programs equip them with the essential skills and knowledge, in accordance with the latest professional standards approved by national and international organizations and bodies, so they can deliver optimal services to beneficiaries in the labor market.

The Unit also provides counseling and therapeutic services to beneficiaries from all segments of the University community. In addition, it receives therapeutic cases referred by hospitals and government institutions, such as the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

The structure of the Psychological Services Unit reflects the importance of activating the role of psychologists and psychological consultants. It stems from Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build a vibrant and healthy society with firmly rooted values, in order to achieve a prosperous and sustainable economy focused on the best options for preparing responsible citizens who contribute to the sustainable development of their nation.

The Psychological Services Unit is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as an approved provider of continuing professional development (CPD) activities and programs in psychology and mental health.
