Department of Educational Technology

The Department of Educational Technology at King Saud University was the first department in this field in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and one of the first in the Arab world, established in 1399 AH (1979). It offers two graduate programs: the Master of Arts in Educational Technology and the Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Technology. In addition, it teaches a number of elective courses in educational technology and instructional design to university students from all disciplines. Each year, the department graduates specialists in educational technology, instructional design, and e-learning and training. The department is also distinguished by admitting applicants from all educational and non-educational backgrounds. It seeks to keep pace with rapid digital transformation in line with Saudi Vision 2030 by developing its programs and courses and introducing new ones to meet emerging needs.
