Department of Islamic Studies

Dear reader, before you is the Department of Islamic Studies, one of the beacons of knowledge and learning at King Saud University.

The Department began modestly, offering general courses taught across the University. It then grew and flourished until it became a hallmark in the University's history, distinguished by its diverse programs, wide range of courses, and outstanding faculty members, unrivaled in this regard by any other department at the University.

The Department's contributions and services have spanned international conferences, academic symposia, distinctive programs, higher diplomas, and research and community engagement. Among the most recent is the Sharia Program, which, praise be to God, has become a sought-after destination for male and female students alike.

As we take pride in these blessed achievements, we extend our deepest gratitude to the leadership of this blessed country for their patronage of knowledge and education at this University and beyond. Our thanks also go to the University's past and present presidents and vice presidents for their continued support of the Department and its programs, and to the College of Education, which has embraced this Department since its establishment. Nor do I forget my colleagues, the Department's faculty members, who, after God, deserve the credit for these achievements. To them I offer my sincere thanks and appreciation.
